When the end seems near

Hi how are you all today? I am well. The weather in my nation this week is supposed to be showery. Since this is our third La Niña coming up, we will need to expect more of this type of weather. I love rain but not storms as they can be so destructive. What is your favourite weather?

This week it seems my social media is flooded with stories of the end is near and Jesus is coming back soon. As I am a Christian, this news is both exciting but also scary as I have many friends and family that aren’t going to heaven yet.

So let’s look at what the Bible says the last days are going to be like. Matthew is the best book for this and in chapter 24, the Message Bible states:

4-8 Jesus said, “Watch out for doomsday deceivers. Many leaders are going to show up with forged identities, claiming, ‘I am Christ, the Messiah.’ They will deceive a lot of people. When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don’t panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end. Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places. This is nothing compared to what is coming.

9-10 “They are going to throw you to the wolves and kill you, everyone hating you because you carry my name. And then, going from bad to worse, it will be dog-eat-dog, everyone at each other’s throat, everyone hating each other.

11-12 “In the confusion, lying preachers will come forward and deceive a lot of people. For many others, the overwhelming spread of evil will do them in—nothing left of their love but a mound of ashes.

13-14 “Staying with it—that’s what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won’t be sorry, and you’ll be saved. All during this time, the good news—the Message of the kingdom—will be preached all over the world, a witness staked out in every country. And then the end will come.

Verses 4 to 12 don’t paint a nice picture, do they? But that is what we are seeing around us today. There are wars, rumours of going to war, famines, earthquakes and other disasters. These sound like a current day newsreel.

But verse 13 is our hope. Just stay with Jesus and in the Word of God. Be obedient to God in everything and keep spreading the love of Jesus everywhere.

In Luke 19:13, Jesus told a parable of a ruler going off into a far country and leaving his servants with money or talents. His instruction to them was “occupy til I come”.

I believe Jesus is saying the same to us today. Don’t be fearful of things around you. It is your job to occupy until I come. I need you to be my hands and feet on the earth. You live your lives daily with Jesus as the centre. You show others the best way to live and conduct your life. To live in my blessing so others can be blessed and you can be examples to others. You raise your families in the ways of God. To do your jobs diligently as if I were your boss. To worship and praise me in everything. To have the fruit of the Spirit operating in your lives so others will see My goodness and will want to follow me. Don’t get caught up in the things going on around you. Be aware but not fearful. I am Your God and your exceeding great reward and your protector, deliverer, Saviour and Lord.Follow me and keep your eyes on Me. Occupy until I come.

The above paragraph is what Jesus downloaded to me as I was writing this blog. It is a Word from God for you and I to hang on to in the last days.

If you don’t know Jesus then pray the prayer in the page I want to know Jesus.

Your best days of loving God and trusting Him are ahead.

Bless you

Karen
