2024 – the year of re-imagining

Hi how are you? I am well. I can’t believe we are in 2024. It seems unreal. What did you do for New Year’s Eve? My husband and I were at the beach and washed the fireworks over the ocean which was lovely.

I always ask God for a word for my blog and this year it is re-imagining. This seems like a weird word. Reimagine in the Webster dictionary means to imagine again or anew.

I believe that through the last few hard years that we have lost our ability to dream and imagine. God is saying it is time to get it back again. It is time to imagine what God can do- in your life, in your family’s life, in your church, at work and in your community. It is time to dream big dreams again.

So how do we do this effectively? How do we go from imagining to then seeing.

Easy- God gave us the formula in Genesis 1. The first five verses in the Message Bible state:

“First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.

God spoke: “Light!”
And light appeared.
God saw that light was good
and separated light from dark.
God named the light Day,
he named the dark Night.
It was evening, it was morning—
Day One.”

When God started creating the earth, what did he see? He just saw darkness all around it. But God didn’t speak what He saw. He imagined what earth could look like and then spoke. Each thing that He created on each day was in perfect order and created in perfect timing.

I was reading the Victory magazine by Kenneth Copeland Ministries for January 2024 and this is what Kenneth Copeland wrote in it:

“Proverbs 3:19 says, “The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.” In other words, in His wisdom The LORD envisioned what He desired to create. Then, through His understanding of how to use faith and words to their fullest extent and power, He brought what He envisioned into manifestation.”

This is why we need to start reimagining. We need to imagine then use our words to create what God desires in our worlds.

Let’s look at some examples:

1. God took Abraham outside and asked him to look at the stars and the number of them would be how many descendants he would have.

2. Joseph had a dream his brothers would bow to him and years later, that’s what happened. But this dream sustained Joseph through prison and being sold into slavery.

What dreams is God asking you to reimagine?

1. Can you see your unsaved children in church worshipping God?

2. Can you see your business flourishing?

3. Can you see relationships restored?

4. Can you see your body healed?

5. Can you see your family serving God?

6. Can you see the church where you go filled with people worshipping Jesus?

7. Can you see your city becoming the first godly one in your nation?

Let’s start dreaming again of all God wants to do. The next step is finding a verse from the Bible and speaking it out (without doubting). Then see what God can do with your 2024.

This is going to be a great year. Start dreaming and believing God then do what He says.

Bless you and keep living the life God intended for you.
