Holy Spirit and power

Hi how are you today? I am well and have had such a busy weekend. We had a special miracle service in our church today and many people received their miracle. For some it will be a progressive miracle over days or weeks as their bodies heal and get into alignment.

This weekend I also attended a Zoom writers conference where I did the social session of playing online scattergories and delivered a devotion session. The conference was amazing.

So after all that comes this weeks blog. I really want to look at the verse in Acts 10:38.

It states in the NIV version:

38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Let’s have a look at what Jesus was anointed with by God – the Holy Spirit and power. It is not the Holy Spirit or power or the Holy Spirit with power but and. This means that the anointing is two separate and distinctive things.

When I read this verse the other day, that phrase really stood out to me. Why? Because maybe you aren’t like me but sometimes I have trouble believing for my healing. I think that is because I don’t recognise the role of the Godhead or trinity in my life. I didn’t remember that I not only had the Holy Spirit but power from God.

Let’s look at the role of the Godhead in our lives:

1. God gives us power. This word is dynamos where we get our word dynamite from. It is an explosive power. This power is the anointing of God on our lives. What is the purpose of that anointing. Isaiah 10:27 tells us in the NKJV:

It shall come to pass in that day
That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,
And his yoke from your neck,
And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

The anointing removes burdens and destroys yokes. It is this power that removes sickness, disease, fears, anxieties etc. Whatever is a burden around our lives or a yoke around our neck (so we can’t move in any other direction other than the one we are facing), is what this anointing moves or breaks.

2. Jesus intercedes for us and because of His sacrifice, we have been reconciled with God (if we choose that) and have been made sons and daughters of God. Jesus prays for us – isn’t that comforting to know. He didn’t just do the work on earth then go back to heaven and not be part of our lives. He prays for us and talks to God about us.

3. The Holy Spirit lives in us and is our help, comforter, guide, teacher, reminder of the truths in Gods Word and our best friend. He is with us always and longs to be intimately involved in our lives.

So how does the Godhead work together to bring healing to us.

1. The Holy Spirit reminds us of the promises of healing in Gods Word.

2. We have faith and trust that Gods Word is true and each promise is for us individually.

3. Jesus prays for us and reminds God of the sacrifice He gave in the whole of the crucifixion from the Garden of Gethsemane to the tomb.

4. The power of God is released to heal us.

This is the same process to receive anything God has promised us. If we need finances, deliverance, peace, etc. However, the process for receiving wisdom is different, just ask and believe.

So this week, remember the process. Sometimes miracles can happen outside this process. God will not be put in a box. But let’s remember it is the Holy Spirit and power that Jesus was anointed with and so are we.

Have a great week and keep living the life God intended for you.

Bless you

Karen
