Hi how are you today? I am well. The weather over here is cooling. Last weekend my oldest son turned 36. Where did those years go? Cherish your children and family. They are so special.
This week I just want to write about some thoughts. I have just read an amazing book called The Garden Within by Anita Phillips. It was really good and opened my mind up even further to what a magnificent creator God is.
He not only planted the garden of Eden in creation but also planted a garden deep within us. When this garden is flourishing then so are we. But if not, then we won’t be. This garden requires nutritious food, plenty of water, sleep, relationships, purpose (our everyday work even as a mum) and calling (that specific thing that God has ordained for you uniquely). These are what makes our garden grow well deep inside us.
If you are struggling in this area, read this book or seek God as to what He needs you to change. It is hard but worth it. I have recently changed the foods I eat and it has been beneficial and my body is healing.
The next thing I want to chat about is the ladies conference I am going to this week. It is called Revive. This is an interesting word as it can encompass a lot in our lives. The meaning of the word in the Oxford dictionary is restore to life, regain life or give new strength or energy to. This is a word that we all need.
We can see many stories in the Bible where people were raised back to life. For example Lazarus and the young daughter of the synagogue leader in Capernaum that Jesus healed. What dreams do you need Jesus to resurrect today? Maybe there is an area in your life that feels dead. You may need a relationship restored. Jesus is the life and He can resurrect those seemingly dead areas.
We also see many stories in the Bible where people regained their life. This can be through healing, deliverance or just by spoken words of encouragement. For example, the blind man who was healed can now live a life where he can provide for himself instead of having to beg. The woman with the issue of blood, now healed can go out into the community freely instead of hiding away. The man delivered from the legion of demons can now live in town instead of in a graveyard. What areas in your life do you need to regain something? Call out to Jesus. He wants to help.
The last one is to give strength to. The best story of this is Naomi who had lost everything except her daughter in law, Ruth. She came back to Bethel from Moab dejected and defeated. But through Ruth’s actions and a loving God, she was restored and had her life revived. What areas do you need God to give strength and energy to you? Just ask Him. God may tell you to do something unusual but that’s okay.
This week meditate on the word revive especially in relation to yourself. Ask God what He wants to do in your life? I will be asking Him too. The best you is just around the corner.
Bless you and keep living the life God intended for you.
Karen
