The wall and the window

September 2, 2025

Hi how are you today? I am good and getting better from a cold and sinus infection. This blog is a little late as we had miracle services in our church on Saturday and Sunday nights. I was in kids church on the Saturday night. Many people were saved, healed, delivered and set free- praise God. How was your week?

In this blog, I want to look at the wall and the window. First, let’s look at one major difference- a window is easy to get through but a wall isn’t. A wall is generally not penetrable unless it is knocked down with a hard blow or many blows. A wall is what many of us have put up around ourselves for protection. This is to keep others out but also so we have no way of being hurt.

A wall around us also means we don’t let others near the real us. A wall is a barrier – not only to us but to others.

But what if we are meant to build other walls around us? One where we feel safe but not fearful. One where we can allow others in and know we are safe. What if we built an ark around ourselves like God did for Noah?

So let’s look at the purpose of the ark in Genesis 6.

It was used to save Noah and his family from a flood. It was also the beginning of a new covenant (verse 18) that God was going to make with Noah and it also housed the animals that lived in the air and on the land.

So in looking at that, what does the ark bring- it brought salvation. Salvation or asking Jesus into our hearts and living for Him is our protection. It doesn’t mean bad things won’t happen. They will because we live in a fallen world. But knowing Jesus brings us the same benefits as it brought Noah in the ark.

Let’s look at some:

  1. It brought protection from the world. Our salvation means we live in the world but we are not dictated by the world’s ways. We don’t follow the patterns of the world. We belong to a new kingdom- the kingdom of God. This doesn’t mean we don’t pay taxes because Jesus told a story that says we should.
  2. The ark means we are secure in Jesus and as He freely loved us, we can love others.
  3. The ark means we have someone watching over us. Like God watched over the ark Noah was in, God watches over us and never leaves us or forsakes us.
  4. We live in a new covenant. We live in the benefits of the cross. We can speak Gods Word and see it come to pass for healing, finances, mental health, peace, love, joy etc.

But what about the windows in the ark? The window was built high enough that Noah could see out but others couldn’t see in. There is a window in our ark that enables us to see what’s going on around us so we can pray. It enables us to see people so we can minister to them and love on them. It enables us to see what God is doing in others lives and rejoice.

Walls, in the spirit realm, are not to be erected by us so that we can protect ourselves, they are meant to be erected by God so that He can protect us. However, when God builds the wall of salvation around us, He builds windows for us to see out and a door so Jesus can enter.

This week, if you are looking around you, becoming fearful and trying to build your own refuge, it is time to tear it down and let God in so He can build it. God is a much better builder than we are and knows exactly what we need. You can do it in Him.

Bless you heaps and keep living the life God intended for you.

Karen
