Hi how are you all today? I am well. The weather in my country is getting colder. I don’t like winter much but I am reminded that without winter, there would be no summer. Conversely without a seed there is no harvest. God put seasons in place for a reason. Winter is a time to hibernate and recharge for the seasons ahead. Therefore, it is so necessary.
This blog I want to talk about wisdom. This is not wisdom from the world or wisdom from my experiences. It is how to get and operate in the wisdom of God.

Godly wisdom comes from getting Gods perspective on matters and not only His perspective but His insight. Proverbs 4:7 tells us that wisdom is the principle thing. That means that Gods wisdom is the main thing we need in our lives after salvation. It will help us make decisions, discern people’s behaviour and situations and will drill down to the root cause of why.
James 1:5 tells us that if we lack wisdom we need to ask for it. Why do we need to ask, why is it not just given? By asking for wisdom from God, we are essentially saying God we need you, we can’t do this ourselves. Asking for wisdom makes us totally reliant on God and not on our own understanding.
It is a practice I try and do daily. We will always come across situations that we just don’t know how to deal with them or what to say. We need God. Let’s look at some scenarios:
1. If we can’t forgive someone, seek Gods wisdom and how He wants you to see that person and situation. It may not even be about you but they may have reacted out of their own insecurity.
2. If we are having trouble grasping a new concept at school or work. Ask God for His wisdom to help you see and help you have the mind of Christ.
3. If you are in addiction and have a low self esteem, ask God for His wisdom on how He sees you and for strategies to put in place for a way out.
4. If you are having problems at work or in a relationship, ask God for wisdom and His solutions on what you need to do.
God will do it for you as surely as He did it for:
1. Daniel when he was facing the lions den for praying.
2. David when he faced a giant and needed to save his nation.
3. Moses when he was tasked with leading the people out of Egypt.
4. Hannah when she was praying for a son.
5. Mary when she fell pregnant as a virgin.
6. Paul when he was in danger of losing his life to a shipwreck.
God gave all of these wisdom and guidance in their different circumstances. He longs to do the same for you.
This week will you ask God for wisdom for your circumstance? Then, will you obey the wisdom God gives you? It is great to receive from God but then we must obey. You can do it.
This is one way we will keep on track and live the life God intended for all of us.
