We live in a culture where our normal thinking is when we give, we get straight away. If I go to the shops and give my money, I expect the goods straight away. Our expectations are the same when it comes to people. We give them a smile, we expect an instant smile in return. If we want a car, we don’t save, we go to the bank to get a loan of money to buy one.
However, there are some things in life, where we have to give our money and then we have to wait. This often happens with concert tickets, sporting event tickets and even holidays. We pay for them in advance. What’s the reason for this? So we actually get to go and enjoy it. If we leave it to the last minute, there is usually no room for us.
So why do we get so cranky with God, when we give our time, treasure or money and return does not happen quick enough? We wait for concerts but we won’t wait for God. Won’t the blessing from God be better and more enjoyable than just going to a concert for four hours or so. TIME is so hard to wait for but, in God, it is so necessary.
When we are waiting for the concert to arrive, what do we do? We talk about it, figure out what we are going to wear and anticipate what it will be like and we learn all the words to the songs. It is like we rehearse the concert many times over before we even arrive. That is the same principle that we need to adopt when we are in the TIME process with God,
We need to talk about our harvest, we need to prepare ourselves for the harvest and we need to learn and remind ourselves of all the Bible verses relating to our harvest. It is literally what God requires – we have faith to believe that our harvest is coming. God does something in us during the TIME process. He develops us and moulds us to make sure we are equipped to handle the harvest. If you can’t handle $100, how are you going to handle $30,000, $60,000 or even $100,000 when it comes your way? If you don’t let God prepare you, you won’t be ready and the harvest won’t come until all the conditions are perfect.
God has a great plan for your life but He leaves it up to us to plant the seeds for whatever harvest we desire. If you desire to be an evangelist, start talking to your neighbours and friends, if you desire to be a writer, start blogging, if you want to be a musician or singer, start practicing and if you want to be a successful business person, do courses and study the life styles of others who already are.
So start planting your seeds, allow God to develop you and practice discipleine through the TIME period and get ready to reap your harvest. God wants you prosperous and living an abundant life so you can be a blessing to others. What are you waiting for- get planting. You can do it!
