Christmas story part 1

Christmas story part 1

I love this time of year when the giving spirit seems more alive than any other time of the year. This Christmas I want to look at the stories of people in the Christmas story. The first one is Mary who was chosen by God to carry His Son. What lessons can we learn from a young girl whose life radiated obedience. Did she have a secret or can it belong to all of us? Read on to find out more.
Who are you

Who are you

If I posed the question to you- who are you- what would your response be? It would probably centre on what you do eg teacher or what you enjoy eg runner or uour role a mum, dad etc. But what if I told you those were the things you do or the roles you have - they are not who you are. As Christians our identity should be the son or daughter of the King. Read on to find out more.
Action not identity

Action not identity

Too often we can call a person silly or stupid but it is not about them, it is their actions. Actions are so different from identity. Actions are what we do and are fleeting whereas identity is who we are and unchangeable unless a significant event happens in our life. Let’s look at Gideons life and see what is important to God. You may be surprised. Read on to find out more.
Fruitfulness

Fruitfulness

Fruitfulness is not a word we speak of often but it’s meaning is how we should be living. The meaning is productive or increasing what’s already there. God wants to live our lives this way with fruitfulness abounding in all areas of our lives. But sometimes we feel barren. Read on to find some keys for fruitful living.
Fight or walk away

Fight or walk away

The battle is real for Christians. However it is not a physical battle but a spiritual one. We tend to want to battle with our enemy. But there are times we need to walk away, seek God, get more training in the Bible and then go again. Follow the story of Gideon in Judges 7 to see what I mean. Read on to find out more.
An engagement

An engagement

An engagement in the natural is a really exciting time for the man and woman involved. However it is also a time of massive change - setting up a house, changing identity to husband and wife, thinking about another person etc. In the spiritual when we give our lives to Jesus we also enter into an engagement type relationship with the Holy Spirit to direct us. Find out how by reading on.
Look around

Look around

Look around - you say I do. But what I am meaning is it’s time to put the phone down and put the camera down and really look around. Did you see the bird singing this morning or the leaves rustling in the trees? Did you see the lizard scurry past on your morning walk or see the sun set to say goodbye to another day? God created this world for us to enjoy not endure. Read on to find out more lessons from creation I learned on my latest holiday.
Old affects new

Old affects new

The good old days is a saying that we hear often. But what if the good old days is not where Hod wants us to camp but to take what we learned from them and then embrace the new. God loves new as He is the creator and continually the creator. It is time that we know the old affects the new but can never replace the new. Read on to find out more.
Don’t strive

Don’t strive

In this fast paced world we live in, we feel we have to keep up so we strive to do things in our own strength. All striving does is wear us out. It is like being on a hamster wheel - always running but never getting anywhere. What is the remedy - walking in the rhythm of Gods grace. Read on to find out more.
The little things

The little things

Do you ever feel that your life is ordinary and mundane? Do you wonder if this is all there is to life? Maybe if you are feeling like this you need to check your faithfulness levels. Are you consistently being faithful in the small things or do you think they are not worth worrying about? If you want to have a better life, read on to find out how it is possible.
Are you a mature sheep?

Are you a mature sheep?

Jesus talks a lot about sheep and lambs in His ministry. Lambs represent baby Christians whilst sheep represent mature Christians. Lambs need feeding whilst sheep need tending and feeding. Which one are you? Read on to find the difference and the characteristics of each.
Just do it

Just do it

Procrastination is the biggest time waster. How do I know? It happens to me a lot. I am needing to do a task and spend more time procrastinating than the time it takes to do a task. So how do we fix this? Just do it. These were also the words Mary spoke to Jesus to bring about His first miracle. Blessing is on the other side of obedience. Read on to find out more.
