Fighting for your family’

Fighting for your family’

Sometimes in life God positions us in situations where we need to make a choice. We may be standing waiting to be invited to a special group at Church or we may be wanting a promotion at work. David faces this same situation in the Bible. Him and his men wanted to join the Philistine army to fight against the Israelites. David knew he could control the battle if he went. But God had a different battle for him to fight. Although David got offended, he submitted to authority and a bigger battle was won. Find out more by reading the blog.
What if there was no cross

What if there was no cross

I always find the story about Jesus’ death on the cross so sad. But a few weeks ago, God whispered these words to me - Karen what if there was no cross. Those words spoke deeply to me and I realised that the cross is powerful and changed everything - not only for those that believe but for the whole world. Can you imagine the world now if there was no cross? Read on to find out more.

Loving the house of God

Loving the house of God

My question I am posing this week is do we love the house of God? How are you when you come into church on Sundays - full of the love of God with joy in your hearts or dragging your feet because sleeping in or the beach seems a better option. psalm 84 encourages us to love the House of God - to have joy in hearts. But we also need to remember that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and are we portraying the love of God. Find out more.
What role Don’t You like

What role Don’t You like

As we go through life, there are certain people we don’t like or get along with. Jesus tells us to love our neighbour, which is all people but how do we do this. God spoke to me a few weeks ago and said it is only this role that you don’t like. I know that we can love people but not like their actions or the role they are playing. This is how we agape love people.
Don’t throw out the old

Don’t throw out the old

When you organise do you throw out the old in order to get something new. God loves to give us something new - new revelation from Him, a new perspective on life, seeing people in a new loving way. However, God doesn’t want us to throw out the old in order to get the new. God wants us to retain our foundation and build on it. Read more about how you do this and what we should retain.
Time to cross the bridge

Time to cross the bridge

I saw a painting whilst on holidays with a bridge in it. As the lady was telling me what the painting would remind me of, the words it is time to cross the bridge resounded within me. God is speaking to some of us telling us that the time has come for us to cross the bridge. Behind us is the wilderness - a place of provision and obedience but up ahead is the promise from God. It is time to move.
Who are you trusting in

Who are you trusting in

Who are you trusting in? Is it your job, your career, your spouse, money or God. God wants us to trust in Him. To take the time to come and hide in Him a while. Jesus wants to gather us like a hen gathers her chicks and hold us close. Nothing is too hard or too much for Jesus. This week make an effort to trust in Jesus more and hide a while in Him.
Adopted by God

Adopted by God

When we get saved, we change kingdoms and families. We move from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. The Bible says that God adopts us into His family. I know what this is like in the natural as I was adopted. There are new things we must unlearn and then learn again. But God has given us all the tools we need. Read more....

Have you ever felt there was something holding you back in your life? Maybe it feels like some sort of bondage. You have tried to overcome it but can’t. Fasting may be the answer. A fast in the Bible is not to lose weight but rather to loose those bonds around your life, to get clarity from God regarding a situation and to ensure that you are living our God’s plan for you.
