Adopted by God
When we get saved, we change kingdoms and families. We move from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. The Bible says that God adopts us into His family. Loosen the bonds
Have you ever felt there was something holding you back in your life? Maybe it feels like some sort of bondage. You have tried to overcome it but can’t. Fasting may be the answer. A fast in the Bible is not to lose weight but rather to loose those bonds around your life, to get clarity from God regarding a situation and to ensure that you are living our God’s plan for you.
Your reward will come
Have you ever done something good and expected a reward for it. Maybe you handed in a wallet or helped someone out? You expected money, a thank you or even a gift but it didn’t come. A man in the Bible named Mordecai felt the same way. Read the story and discover what you can learn from waiting for your reward.
2019 – New Year New You
2019 is here. Some people make resolutions for the new year especially in relation to eating and exercising. But what if we make a resolution to be more like Jesus - to prosper spirit, soul and body. The Bible tells us how. Let this year be a new year for a new you.
Reflection
Looking back on 2018, the year would be my brave year. Doing things I never thought I would. I have listed some brave things that I did. They may not be brave for you. One thing I learnt was that being brave did not mean doing the year alone. God was always with me through it all. All I needed to do was trust Him. Thankful now I had the experiences but maybe not then.
What about this man?
Have you ever been in a situation where God has been speaking to you and you say what about this person? Why do I have to do that? What about when God tells you to change a behaviour or action but all your friends are doing it? We again say, what about this man, or woman? Jesus confronted Peter over this issue in John 21. Find out what Jesus said.
It is when we walk and live in the perfect will of God for our lives that we will find peace and contentment with ourselves.
Don’t always react
It’s hard to not react to a situation when it comes up, especially if we think it’s urgent. We most often run and try to fix it but there is a better way. When Jesus was told one of His best friends had died, He stayed in the place where He was for two more days. Then God gave Him the clearance to go. What did He find? Lazarus had already died. The wonder of Christmas
I love this time of year. The time to catch up with family, have special food and give and receive gifts. But have have you ever thought of the wonder of Christmas?
Are we still amazed that a God in heaven would send His only son to us in the form of a baby knowing that His very creation would one day sentence Him to die? This was beautiful and remarkable and showed the love of God to us in a magnificent way.
This is the wonder of Christmas.
Deborah – woman of God
Deborah is the only woman judge recorded in the Bible. She was a wife, mother, prophetess and courageous. She went to war when that wasn’t the accepted thing. She sat under a palm tree positioned by God in the place between the seat of idolatry and the house of prayer. She sounds like a hero and yes she’s mine but what can we learn from her.
Word of God always works
Do you find that sometimes your prayers aren’t answered. Have you ever wondered why? Maybe the reason is that you are speaking your own words and not God’s Word. The Bible states that His Word will always prosper and do the job that it was sent to do.
The simple life
In this current generation, we have steered away from living a simple life. Our houses have to be filled with stuff, our calendars with activities and our days with busyness. But there are some who have gone back to the simple life. What is that simple life? It means that are lives should be plain, basic and uncomplicated in form, nature or design (meaning of simple in the dictionary). That does not sound like too many of our lives today. So what does the Bible say our lives should be like?
Miracle does not mean provision
When your bill needs to be paid and you can’t pay it, do you expect a miracle. God has better for you and it’s called provision. The ability to believe God’s Word and see it come to pass. It’s also called faith. This blog will show you the difference and how to go from miracle to provision.
