The missing link

Hi how are you all today? I am okay and recovering from surgery on my nose. It was a medical not cosmetic surgery. One side of my nose was nearly blocked. So I am now resting and on the mend. Hope your week wasn’t as traumatic as mine.

Have you ever been in a church service or church conference and felt the tangible presence of God. You just knew that God was in the building and it was so comforting but also so real. In my experience, the tangible presence of God is sometimes absent from our weekly church services. Why is that? Does God not want to show up or is there some other reason?

I don’t know about you but I want to experience the tangible presence of God more than I currently do. So if most people in church ( except for the unsaved ) really love God, wouldn’t He show up for that reason alone. You would think so but I think God is starting to want more from His people.

In this year of the revealing of the sons and daughters of God, there has to be more for this to happen. Let’s look at a story in Exodus 9 and then in particular verse 30 to see the key.

Starting in verse 13, this is the story of the seventh plague of hail in Egypt. Moses had told Pharaoh to let the Israelites go to worship God, but he refused. So plagues we’re coming on Egypt.

The hail was so bad that it killed man and beast and struck every herb in the field and broke every tree in the field. This was a harsh and dangerous hailstorm. Pharaoh was so afraid of the hail that he called for Moses and Aaron. Pharaoh admitted he had sinned and that God was righteous and he and all the people were wicked.

This should have been enough for Pharaoh to let the Israelites go and for God to have compassion on him. Right! Wrong!

Look at verse 30. Moses said to Pharaoh that he knew that he still did not fear the Lord God. What? Pharaoh said he was sorry but being sorry is only half the process of repentance. Being sorry is like saying sorry I got caught but true repentance lies in fearing God and determining not to do it again.

Pharaoh was sorry that destruction was caused by his mistake but he didn’t fear God enough to obey and let the Israelites go.

In our own lives we can say we love Jesus. We can say we are sorry for our sin. But I believe that the sons and daughters of God will be revealed when we fear God ( hold Him in high esteem and awe) and obey. We need this in church today. We need our altars filled with not sorry people but repentant people.

We need our churches filled with people who love Jesus and fear God. We are not scared of God but scared to be away from God.

When we walk into church on Sundays ready to meet God, worship God and obey the Bible, then we will see another dimension coming to our services. The sons and daughters of God will be revealed and then revival can touch the world. I can’t wait for this. It will be better than the book of Acts because God is into new.

Let’s prepare our hearts and be ready. This is how we will continue in these last days to live the life God intended for all of us.

Bless you

Karen
