Hi how are you all today? I hope you are well and have had a great Christmas. I can’t believe it is 2023. After the last couple of years I wonder if things are going to return to normal or are we just accepting that how it is today is how it will be? I am just grateful I know Jesus and He is with me, no matter what happens!
Over the last couple of years I have asked God for a word for the new year. This year’s word is revealing. God woke me a few nights ago and He said it was the year for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God.
This is spoken about in the Bible in Romans 8:19 and in the New International Version states:
For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
This is this year – the sons and daughters of God will be revealed. What does revealed mean? It means in the Oxford Dictionary – make (something) known to humans by divine or supernatural means.
God is going to do something in each of our lives, if we will let Him, to show the world who we really are. Let’s think about it. You are walking down the street and through the shops passing multitudes of people. Can you really tell which ones are Christians and which ones aren’t? Generally no. But this year will be different, God is going to make known His people. How? I don’t really know but from the dictionary meaning it will be divine or supernatural.
Can God do this? Well He has done it before. When the Israelites were living in Egypt and Moses came back and told them that God was going to deliver them, it didn’t look possible. But one by one those plagues started and both the Egyptians and Israelites suffered through the first few.
However there came a time when separation took place. The plague of darkness came. But this time it didn’t touch the Israelites. It was light where they lived and dark where the Egyptians lived. God revealed who His people were.
If He did it then, He can do it again. It will look different but the result will be the same. The sons and daughters of God will be revealed.
Are you ready? How can we make ourselves ready? By being like the 5 wise virgins. We need oil in our lamps. How? By praying and being open to the leading of the Spirit of God. We need to read and do the Word of God. We need to ensure our actions and words are lining up with what God says. Will we stumble? Yes but that is what the gift of repentance is for.
This year stay close to God, His Word and His people. Get ready for a move of God in your life as He reveals His princes and princesses to the world. It will be an exciting year but also one filled with persecution as we are revealed. There must be a difference between the world and the church and this is it.
Keep shining for Jesus and living the life God has intended for you.
Bless you
Karen
