A decision and an action

Hi how are you all today? I am well. The weather is a bit weird where I live. It is getting cooler but we are expecting storms which usually only occur in summer when it’s hot. We may also get floods again. You know Jesus is coming soon when the weather doesn’t know what to do and how to act in the season we are in.

This week I want to talk about a decision and an action. I was listening to a pastor preach and they were talking about the books in heaven. There is a book of life and then there is a separate book on each person who has ever been born on the things they did whilst on earth. The second book is like the report card of our life. These books are vastly different and have different rewards and consequences.

I like to think of them like enrolling in a school. When our parents enrol us in a school, they fill out a form and the school determines who will get in or not. It can depend on where you live and how old you are.

The other form at school is a report card. This is the story of the achievements and grades of that term or year.

You can enrol at a school and get accepted or rejected without a report card. Even if you do have one, most of the time it is not taken into account for enrolment in that school.

It is the same as the Book of Life. The only way our name gets in there is if we accept Jesus as our Saviour and Lord ( John 3:16). We don’t have to do great works for our name to be written in that book. We just have to make a decision. If your name is not written in there, there is no heaven for you.

The other book is the story of our life. This book determines our rewards in heaven. We get crowns for different things. All our good works will be kept but all our bad works will be burnt up.

What I want to say next is so important! Just because you have a story of your life filled with good deeds and works, if your name is not written in the Book of Life, heaven will not be your destination.

However, if your name is written in the Book of Life and you don’t have any good deeds in your other book, heaven is your destination because you made a decision to accept Jesus, but there may be no rewards or crowns for you.

Jesus wants our time here on earth to be productive for Him. He longs for us to accept Him as Lord and Saviour but also to fulfill the good plans He has for our life. I don’t know about you , but I want all Jesus has for me. I desire heaven but also an abundant life here on earth.

Gods mercy and grace is so amazing so if you haven’t accepted Jesus, please do by praying the prayer to accept Him. You won’t be sorry and you will begin to live the most glorious life.

So this week, think on these words. My desire for you and Gods desire is for you to live completely the life that God has intended for you.

Bless you

Karen
