Hi how are you all? I am good and all is normal in my world. Summer is still here with warm temperatures and high humidity at times. But as I don’t really like jumpers I will take the heat just a little bit longer. How is the weather at your place?
Today I want to explore the topic of what are you really expecting. You see, a lot of times what we say with our mouth is way different to what we really believe. I could say that I am prosperous but if I don’t believe that God really desires that for me, it won’t happen. Our words and our believing need to match.
But for that to happen, we must know the truth about receiving from God. James 1:17 states:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
God desires to give us good gifts and we need to get that truth deep in our hearts. God does not give out bad gifts. Jesus came so we could have life and life abundantly good not bad. We can see Gods gifts in creation in Genesis 1. All that God made was good- there was nothing bad and God is still the same today because He doesn’t change.
Sickness is not a good gift so it doesn’t come from God. Poverty is not a good gift and it doesn’t come from God either. Anger, jealousy and those types of things are not good gifts either and therefore, none of them come from God.
This is further emphasised in the story in Matthew 7, starting at verse 7. This is the teaching of Jesus where He is talking about asking, receiving and knocking. Verse 9 is where He talks about receiving. If your son asks for bread will you give him a stone. If he asks for fish will you give him a serpent. The answer is, of course not.
However, that is sometimes what we expect to receive from God- bad things instead of good things. God is a good Father. Healing is always ours but we need to receive it by faith. The same with prosperity of our soul. Everything from God needs to be received by faith. How does faith come? By hearing and hearing the Word of God.
We can’t receive from God if we don’t know what is in the gift basket. So start reading the Bible and find out. Your gifts are waiting to be received.
Have an amazing week and keep living the life God intended for you.
Bless you hesps
