Hi how are you all today? I am well and had an enjoyable time up the coast. Now it is back to work for me next week. How are you all feeling with what’s going on in the world? Are you still trusting God or has circumstances led you to doubt sometimes?
I was reading something last week and it struck me that streams of water only move forward. They never move backwards (until they meet with a stronger force – the sea). I was thinking that’s how God wants my life – moving forward in Him until I reach my destination- heaven. Let’s just imagine for a moment that you are a leaf. You have fallen into this stream of water. You are looking back to that tree you have fallen out of and wish you were still there, but you aren’t. You are being swept away in a stream of no return.
Sometimes we are like that leaf. We look back to the place from which we came and what we used to cling to. We want to go back and turn around. All of a sudden, we are pushing against the water. Minutes ago, that same water was causing us to float. Now it seems like hard work. God does not want us looking back with either longing or regret and shame. He wants us floating down the stream with Him towards a brand new life.
Along the way, a stick may push into us and take us off course. This happens when we allow circumstances to derail us from the course. We may go over some pebbles or get tossed in the air by waves or splashes. The view may look better up there but it’s in the stream where our destiny propels us forward.
Where are you in this stream? Have you even jumped in or are you still clinging to the tree? God has an amazing plan for your life but you must be in the stream. Here is a Bible verse to leave you with. Isaiah 55:1a – “Ho Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters”.
Who or what are these waters or streams? Jesus. If you want hope for the future, come to Jesus. If you need healing, come to Jesus. If you need peace, come to Jesus. Put your own word in there- if you need…………, come to Jesus. Life is found when you jump in the stream and follow Jesus. So today, take the plunge. Have an amazing week and keep living the life God intended for you.
Bless you
