Be still and know

Hi how are you all doing? Are you in lockdown, or practicing your social distancing and still allowed out and about? The interesting thing about this virus is that no matter what country we all live in, we are all in this together. It is like being in unity.

For the blog today, I am going to digress from the last coat of Joseph as I believe God wants me to write two specific messages of encouragement for you. The first one is this one – be still and know. The second one will hopefully be published tomorrow which is – life in uncertain times.

So let’s begin the first one – be still and know. This is taken straight from the Bible in Psalm 46:10. The first bit of the verse is Be still, and know that I am God. I feel that word should be resonating in our hearts at the moment.

  • Are you fearful – be still and know that I am God.
  • Are you worried about losing your job or have lost it – be still and know that I am God
  • Are you worried about the virus – be still and know that I am God
  • Are you worried about your family and friends – be still and know that I am God
  • Are you missing your family and friends – be still and know that I am God

God is the answer at the moment to all our fears, what ifs and why’s. I believe that God wants us just to be still – set time aside and just sit, stop scurrying about and just sit, stop fretting and just sit , stop your heart racing and just sit. Did you know that be still is an action on our behalf and requires us to do something? So we each need to purpose in our heart to spend that time to be still.

Why? Because God wants us to remember Who is is. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is still Jehovah Jireh, our provider, He is still Jehovah Rapha, our healer, He is still Jehovah Shalom, our peace, He is still our righteousness, our Love, our Faith etc. God is Who you need Him to be. Guess what – all those names of God are wrapped up in one name – Jesus. When Jesus saved us and gave us our inheritance – it was all of the above and much more. Let’s just put our trust in Him.

I want to look at the second part of the above verse. It says after we are still and know then God will be exalted (honoured) among the nations. God will be exalted (honoured) in the earth. Isn’t that an amazing promise? I always knew the first part of that verse off by heart but my spirit leapt when I read that second part. It is like God was keeping it hidden for such a time as right now.

At the end of this, and all through it, God will be honoured. Many people are turning to Jesus. If you want to do the same, then click on the heading ” Do you want to know Jesus” and pray the prayer.

Our best days are ahead when we will see the mighty move of God like we have dreamed about for so long. Keep yourself in a position of readiness and keep living the life God intended.

Bless you heaps

Kare
