Hi have you ever been in a sticky situation and God says trust Me? You really want something more tangible than trust Me but I am here to tell you it’s not going to come. The reason I will talk about later.
But let’s think of a couple of situations that we might be in. One of them is if you are a parent. In certain circumstances, you will tell your child/ren trust me. Trust that I can provide your food, trust that your bed is clean every night and trust that I will provide you clothes to keep you warm. In a work situation, one of the most important elements in today’s workplaces is trust. If your team trust you, they will work better. If you trust your manager, you will work better and won’t worry about those things that are beyond your control.
So, in the Bible, what does trust Me really mean? Let’s look at one verse and see if we can discern the meaning. It is in Proverbs 3:5-6. It states “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths”. Notice that the trusting path comes before anything else; before the leaning, acknowledging and directing. That means that trust is the catalyst or the main thing we need to get right in order for the other bits to come to pass.
So, what does trust in this passage mean in the Hebrew. Trust in this verse means to be confident, sure, be bold, secure, put confidence in and make to hope. It is a word full of promise and security.
But it holds so much more because it is not in a temporary thing or even another person that we are putting that trust in – but the Almighty, powerful creator God Who created all things with the words of His mouth.
So why don’t we trust God? I think it is because we look too much at the physical and don’t see much or even any change. God is a spiritual God and He changes things in the spiritual first long before the natural is affected. We can see that in Daniel 10: 12-13. The angel came to give Daniel the answers to his prayers but the angel was hindered in the spirit realm for three whole weeks. Don’t you think that may happen today? There is a spiritual realm all around us but because we live in the natural world with human eyes, we can’t see it. Our prayers are answered straight away in the spirit realm but things have to happen for the answer to manifest in the natural realm.
Isaiah 55:8 tells us that God’s thoughts are not our thoughts and our ways are not God’s ways. Why? Because in verse 9 it states that God’s ways are higher than our ways and God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. This is because God is in the spiritual and we are in the natural.
So this week or in the future when God says to trust Me, just have the confidence and assurance and security that God has your situation in hand and keep walking in faith in God’s Word.
Bless you all and have an amazing week
Karen
